Worldwide, the therapeutics market is already flooded with therapies that cost more than $1 million per dose. At least 10 drugs (As following table ) have reached this milestone, mainly gene therapies, but also small molecule drug modalities. Recently, the one-time gene therapy Lenmeldy for early-onset metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) of Orchard Therapeutics has been approved by the FDA for sale, priced at $4.25 million, raising the price of the world's most expensive drug by 21%.
